Eight Days Martial Arts Grand Opening Weekend
October 4 & 5, 2025 – Whitehorse, Yukon
We’re excited to invite you to celebrate the opening of our new location! Since moving in this June, we’ve been working hard to make Eight Days Martial Arts a welcoming space for training, growth, and community. Now it’s time to open the doors wide and celebrate with you.
Saturday, October 4
BJJ Seminar with Professor Shawn Albrecht
1–3 PM
We’re honoured to host Professor Shawn Albrecht, third-degree black belt and owner of our affiliate school in BC, Frontline Functional Training & Martial Arts. Professor Shawn brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, and this is a fantastic opportunity for both kids and adults to learn directly from him.

Community BBQ & Celebration
3 PM Onward
After the seminar, stick around (or just drop by!) for a relaxed afternoon of food, fun, and connection. Members, families, and the public are all welcome. We’ll be firing up the BBQ, raffling off some great prizes, and for those looking to add a little adventure to the day, we’ll have both a sauna and an ice plunge on site.
Sunday, October 5
First Responder Seminar
1–3 PM
We’re proud to host a free seminar exclusively for first responders, led by Coach Bobby’s first black belt: an RCMP National Emergency Response Team member, certified Combatives Instructor, and head of High Ground BJJ in Ottawa—Coach Ryan.
This special session is designed to give back to those who serve our communities and is open to all emergency services personnel—even if you’re not a member of Eight Days Martial Arts. No special equipment or attire is required; we’ll train in bare feet and gym clothes.
