BOBBY WOODMAN

OWNER, HEAD INSTRUCTOR

Coach Bobby Woodman is the heart of Eight Days Martial Arts. Born in Saskatchewan and raised in the Yukon, he was drawn to Jiu Jitsu after watching the early days of the UFC. His martial arts journey began with Can-Ryu Jiu Jitsu and has evolved to include years of experience in Muay Thai, MMA, No-Gi, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Coach Bobby earned his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Shawn Albrecht of Ascension Martial Arts in British Columbia. Professor Albrecht is a third-degree black belt under Brian J. Johnson of Northwest Jiu Jitsu, a fifth-degree black belt under Rigan Machado, David Meyer, and John Will—a lineage rooted in the foundations of modern BJJ.

In 2023, Bobby was named Coach of the Year by Sport Yukon, recognizing his technical expertise, leadership, and commitment to his students. Whether he's teaching, training, or cornering students at competition, Bobby leads by example and embodies our motto: “Train eight days a week.” His classes are known for being challenging, supportive, and deeply rooted in the values of discipline and growth.
